Bahrain’s Non-Oil Trade Highlights for October 2024: Exports Reach $833 Million

Bahrain, 9 December, 2024 :  Bahrain's non-oil exports for October 2024 totaled BD316 million ($833 million), marking a 9% decline compared to BD349 million ($920 million) in October 2023, according to the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA).

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia topped the list of importers, followed by the US and UAE. Unwrought aluminum alloys were Bahrain’s top export product, valued at BD94 million (30%), with agglomerated iron ores and unwrought aluminum not alloyed following at BD40 million (13%) and BD20 million (6%), respectively.

Non-oil imports fell by 17% to BD463 million in October, down from BD561 million last year. China ranked as the largest exporter to Bahrain with BD70 million (15%), followed by Australia at BD54 million (12%) and the UAE at BD37 million (8%). Key imports included aluminum oxide, valued at BD48 million (10%), and four-wheel drives at BD18.9 million (4%).

Re-exports increased by 10% to BD75 million, with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Belgium leading the list of destinations. Turbo-jets topped re-exported products at BD16 million (21%), followed by gold ingots at BD5.3 million (7%).

The trade balance deficit narrowed significantly to BD72 million in October, compared to BD144 million in the same period last year.
