KSA, 11 December, 2024 : The KSA-EU Trade Roundtable, organized by the Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT), concluded on Tuesday, reaffirming Saudi Arabia and the European Union's commitment to strengthening trade and economic relations across all fields.
The two-day meeting, held at GAFT's headquarters from December 9-10, brought together around 60 senior officials, trade experts, and private sector representatives. Discussions focused on trade regulations, customs systems, market access, knowledge exchange, investment opportunities, and addressing trade barriers.
Co-chaired by Abdulaziz Al-Sakran, Deputy Governor of GAFT for International Relations, and Thomas Jorgensen, Head of Trade and Economic Affairs at the EU Delegation to Saudi Arabia, the event highlighted the growing trade volume between the two sides, which reached $52 billion by mid-2024.
The meeting included representatives from various Saudi institutions, EU member states, and the European Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia. It aligns with GAFT’s objectives to enhance international trade revenues, safeguard economic interests, and support Saudi Arabia’s economic development.
