KSA, 11 December, 2024 : Saudi Arabia and Malaysia agreed to strengthen coordination and cooperation across various fields during the inaugural Saudi-Malaysian Coordination Council meeting, co-chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan.
Held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh on Tuesday, the meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in politics, security, defense, energy, economy, education, culture, and tourism. Both sides emphasized their commitment to advancing bilateral relations and aligning positions on regional and global issues of shared concern.
Key outcomes included the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). The first exempts holders of diplomatic, special, or official passports from short-term visa requirements, while the second focuses on social development.
Officials from various Saudi and Malaysian government bodies participated, with discussions highlighting the importance of sustained coordination and follow-up on council initiatives. The meeting concluded with plans for a second session, to be scheduled later, to further deepen bilateral ties.
