Oman, 16 December, 2024 : The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) hosted the Oman-Japan Business Forum on Sunday, aiming to strengthen trade partnerships and promote environmentally friendly technologies between the two nations. The forum supports OCCI’s strategic vision to enhance the private sector and drive economic diversification.
Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI, emphasized the importance of Oman’s long-standing trade relationship with Japan, built on shared aspirations for prosperity.
H.E. Gota Yamamoto, Japan’s Ambassador to Oman, praised Oman’s investment in vital sectors like climate technologies, including green hydrogen, ammonia, and renewable energy, aligning with Japan’s net-zero emissions strategy.
Takashi Omote, Executive Director of the Japan Cooperation Centre for the Middle East, highlighted opportunities for collaboration in renewable energy, circular economy, and information technology to foster industrial and economic development across the MENA region.
