Omani-Saudi Coordination Council Enhances Economic and Trade Cooperation

Oman, 16 December, 2024 : The second meeting of the Omani-Saudi Coordination Council was held on Thursday in Al Ula, Saudi Arabia, co-chaired by Omani Foreign Minister H.E. Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al Saud.

H.E. Sayyid Badr emphasized the council's role in advancing bilateral cooperation, highlighting progress since its inaugural session in Muscat in November 2023. The council has fostered economic integration, expanded trade, and boosted joint investments, particularly in energy, culture, and tourism. It also enhanced political coordination on regional and international issues.

H.E. Sayyid Badr noted that Omani-Saudi cooperation goes beyond mutual interests, contributing to regional stability and prosperity. He congratulated Saudi Arabia on winning the bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, recognizing the kingdom’s ambitious vision.

Prince Faisal praised the efforts to strengthen Saudi-Omani relations, acknowledging the positive outcomes of the council’s initiatives. Both ministers reiterated the importance of further developing the council's work to enhance bilateral cooperation.

The meeting was attended by committee heads, senior officials, and representatives from various sectors of both countries.
