Japan and UAE Agree to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

UAE, 17 December, 2024 : Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya and UAE Industry and Advanced Technology Minister Sultan Al-Jaber held a 25-minute phone discussion on Monday, agreeing to enhance cooperation across various sectors under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Initiative.

Iwaya emphasized Japan’s commitment to furthering ties with the UAE, while Al-Jaber expressed his interest in strengthening bilateral relations. The ministers also reaffirmed their collaboration on the Japan-UAE Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), following the first round of negotiations held in Tokyo last month. The talks covered trade, customs procedures, investment, intellectual property, and more.
