UAE, 18 December, 2024 : The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has further solidified its global standing, ranking first worldwide in 223 key indicators in 2024, up from 215 in 2023. It also placed among the top five in 444 indicators and the top 10 in 661 indicators globally, reflecting its visionary leadership and commitment to human development.
In the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2024, the UAE rose to seventh globally, excelling in economic performance (2nd), government efficiency (4th), and business efficiency (10th). It maintained its first-place regional ranking in the UN Human Development Index, climbing to 17th globally out of 193 countries.
For the third consecutive year, the UAE topped the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor report, achieving a record score of 7.7. It also ranked 18th globally in the Travel & Tourism Development Index and led the Arab world in road quality, public transport efficiency, and port services.
In civil aviation, the UAE ranked first globally in Air Transport Infrastructure Quality and third in air transport service efficiency, according to the Travel & Tourism Development Index. The nation also ranked second globally in new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with 1,323 initiatives and $30.7 billion in inflows in 2023, per UNCTAD.
The UAE achieved significant advancements in digital services, ranking first globally in the ICT Infrastructure Index and climbing 34 spots to 10th place in the Human Capital Index. Additionally, it ranked fifth globally in the Quality Infrastructure Index for Sustainable Development, showcasing its strides in innovation and development across sectors.
