Kuwait, 24 December, 2024 : Weyay Bank has introduced “AFAQ,” a new service enabling instant and cost-effective bank transfers across Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The service, powered by the Gulf Payments Company, links payment systems within the GCC, facilitating local currency transfers with enhanced privacy and security, while avoiding currency fluctuations and delays.
Amal Al-Duwaisan, Head of Weyay Bank, highlighted the bank’s commitment to digital innovation, stating, “AFAQ strengthens economic cooperation and provides customers with instant, secure transfers at competitive rates, reinforcing Weyay’s position as Kuwait’s first digital bank.”
The “AFAQ” service is available through the Weyay app, reflecting the bank’s focus on providing flexible and efficient banking solutions tailored to customer needs. This initiative is expected to reshape cross-border payments within the GCC, enhancing Weyay Bank’s reputation as a pioneer in digital banking.
