FTA Reminds December Licence Holders to Register for Corporate Tax by Year-End

UAE, 25 December, 2024 : The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has reminded Resident Juridical Persons with licences issued in December, regardless of the issuance year, to register for Corporate Tax by 31 December 2024 to avoid penalties.

Under FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024, taxable persons must adhere to deadlines based on their licence issuance month. Failure to comply will result in administrative penalties as outlined in Cabinet Decision No. 75 of 2023. The regulation applies to both Resident and Non-Resident Juridical Persons and Natural Persons.

The FTA clarified that for holders of multiple licences, the earliest licence issuance date determines the deadline, even if a licence is expired. Registration is available on the EmaraTax platform, which streamlines the process into four steps and provides access to other tax services.

Taxable persons can register directly through EmaraTax, authorised tax agents, or government service centres. Successful applicants will receive a Corporate Tax Registration Number upon approval.

The FTA urged those who have not yet registered to create an EmaraTax account and complete the process promptly.
