Georgia Eyes Stronger Investment and Tourism Links with Bahrain

Bahrain, 30 December, 2024 : Georgia and Bahrain are set to explore private sector partnerships in real estate, energy, and tourism, with potential flight routes connecting Bahrain to Georgian cities, including Batumi. During a recent visit to Bahrain, Prince Juan de Bagration-Mukhrani, a Georgian royal and businessman, highlighted these opportunities.

Speaking to the GDN, Prince Juan emphasized Batumi's strategic location and its growing tourism and real estate sectors as attractive for Bahraini investors. He noted ongoing collaborations with global brands like Accor, Novotel, and Mercure, which have led to significant hospitality developments in Batumi, including Mercure Aquapark Batumi and Novotel Living Luxury Hotel.

Prince Juan described Batumi as a promising investment hub offering high returns in real estate and tourism. He also emphasized Georgia's appeal as a safe and business-friendly destination, ranked 4th globally for ease of business and as the 4th safest country in the world.

Exploring direct flights between Bahrain and Batumi is part of broader efforts to strengthen ties. Prince Juan also highlighted energy and infrastructure as additional sectors where GCC support could benefit Georgia, while Georgian investors could explore opportunities in Bahrain’s industrial sector.

The prince’s visit aims to bolster economic and cultural ties, fostering mutual growth through investment and collaboration.
