Sharjah Executive Council establishes, forms Higher Committee for Economic Integration

UAE, 2 January, 2025 : The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, has established the Higher Committee for Economic Integration to drive economic development across the emirate’s mainland and free zones.

The committee, led by Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations, aims to create a comprehensive economic strategy, enhance cooperation among government entities, and streamline policies to support economic growth. Key members include representatives from the Sharjah Free Zone Authority, Sharjah Finance Department, and Sharjah Economic Development Department.

Additionally, the SEC approved the inclusion of people with disabilities under Decision No. (19) of 2022, extending medical and dental services provided to elderly citizens in Sharjah.

The council also approved the organizational structure of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority and introduced a decision to provide assistance to UAE nationals whose homes are damaged by natural disasters. The assistance will be granted based on assessments by the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority and local municipalities, ensuring swift support for affected residents.
