Bahrain, 8 January, 2025 : Bahrain’s non-oil exports increased by 7% to reach BD319 million ($846.38 million) in November 2024, compared to BD299 million in the same month of 2023, according to the latest Foreign Trade report from the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA).
Non-oil imports also rose by 5%, reaching BD478 million in November 2024, compared to BD454 million in November 2023. The kingdom’s trade balance recorded a deficit of BD93 million in November 2024, up from BD81 million in the same month of 2023.
China was the leading source of Bahrain’s imports, totaling BD73 million (15%), followed by Australia and the UAE. Key imports included aluminum oxide, iron ores, and aircraft engine parts.
In terms of exports, Saudi Arabia ranked first with BD66 million (21%), followed by the US with BD56 million (18%). Top export products included unwrought aluminum alloys, agglomerated iron ores, and unwrought aluminum.
Non-oil re-exports decreased by 11%, totaling BD66 million in November 2024. The UAE was the top destination for re-exports, followed by Saudi Arabia and the UK. Key re-exported items included turbo jets, four-wheel drive vehicles, and gold ingots.
