Qatar Cabinet Approves E-Commerce Regulations, 2025 Census, and Key International Agreements

Qatar, 9 January, 2025 :  The Qatari Cabinet, chaired by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, approved several initiatives in its regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan.

Key decisions included in-principle approval of conditions for e-commerce without a physical location, aimed at creating a legal framework to attract investors, foster entrepreneurship, and safeguard consumer rights.

The Cabinet also approved a draft decision for a simplified and records-based census for 2025 to efficiently collect and publish demographic and economic data.

Additionally, agreements with Turkiye and Burundi on humanitarian aid and economic cooperation were endorsed, along with an MoU on family policy collaboration with Hungary.

Other discussions included reports on environmental safety, government service fees, the Qatar Financial Centre strategy (2024–2030), and ministerial participation in international events, with appropriate actions taken.
