These visits aim to strengthen partnerships and enhance collaboration on the Government Finance Statistics (GFS) Project.
The initiative focuses on improving the quality of financial and statistical data, aligning with global best practices to support the UAE’s sustainable development and financial performance. H.E. Younis Haji AlKhoori, Undersecretary of the MoF, emphasized the importance of accurate data in building trust in the national economy and guiding future economic policies.
The discussions also highlighted the achievements of the GFS Project, including the UAE Cabinet’s recent approval of the 2023 annual data. Plans for 2024 data collection, based on the IMF’s recommendations and the 2014 Government Finance Statistics Manual, were also reviewed.
The meetings underscored the need to enhance digital systems and data transparency. Plans to update the General Data Dissemination System (e-GDDS) and develop an electronic linkage system connecting financial departments to the UAE Government Finance Statistics Reporting Portal were discussed, aiming to drive digitalisation and strengthen the UAE’s global position in public finance.
