UAE and Portugal Strengthen Ties on Governance and Public Resource Protection

UAE, 11 January, 2025 :  Humaid Obaid Abushibs, Chairman of the UAE Accountability Authority (UAEAA), concluded an official visit to Portugal to strengthen strategic partnerships and exchange best practices in protecting public resources.

Abushibs met with key officials, including Filipa Urbano Calvão, President of the Court of Auditors, and António Pires da Graça, Head of the National Anti-Corruption Mechanism, to explore cooperation in oversight, auditing, and integrity.

The UAEAA showcased its governance initiatives, technical solutions, and coordinated approach to promoting transparency and accountability. It also emphasised the importance of global collaboration and adopting effective models to enhance audit efficiency and protect national resources.

This visit aligns with the UAE's commitment to fostering international cooperation and advancing governance excellence.
