UAE, 14 January, 2025 : The UAE and Uzbekistan are set to boost collaboration in various economic and developmental sectors, following a high-level meeting between Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, and Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan.
Discussions focused on enhancing partnerships in the new economy, tourism, SMEs, FinTech, renewable energy, logistics, transportation, agriculture, and innovation. Bin Touq emphasized the strategic and fruitful relations between the two nations, describing Uzbekistan as a promising economic partner in Central Asia.
He highlighted the UAE’s attractive economic environment, flexible legislation, and strategic position as a platform for Uzbek businesses to access global markets. Key advantages such as advanced infrastructure, national strategies, and initiatives to foster sustainable growth were also discussed.
The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening private-sector collaboration and knowledge exchange. Particular emphasis was placed on renewable energy, technology, logistics, agriculture, and food security, with the UAE-Uzbekistan Joint Economic Committee playing a pivotal role.
Bin Touq concluded by inviting the Uzbek delegation to participate in the fourth edition of Investopia next month, a platform to explore investment opportunities and enhance bilateral cooperation.
