UAE, 15 January, 2025 : The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) held discussions with a Jordanian diplomatic and economic delegation to strengthen trade and investment cooperation. The talks, led by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, SCCI Chairman, and Asem Mohamed Ababneh, Jordan’s Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, focused on enhancing private sector collaboration, fostering investments, and organising joint business forums.
Both sides agreed to activate a cooperation agreement between SCCI and the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) and facilitate delegation visits to boost commercial ties. Discussions included encouraging Jordanian participation in Sharjah's exhibitions, supported by SCCI, to attract regional and international engagement.
Al Owais highlighted the UAE’s position as Jordan’s largest international investor, with investments exceeding $4 billion by the end of 2023. He emphasized Sharjah’s commitment to fostering economic ties, especially after signing the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement in October 2024.
The Jordanian delegation praised Sharjah’s role as a key regional economic hub and expressed gratitude for SCCI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen mutual relations.
