UAE, 20 January, 2025 : The UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) to introduce the CIPS Practitioner Level Diploma in Procurement and Supply 2025. The initiative aims to enhance national competencies, foster innovation in government, and boost the UAE’s global competitiveness.
The agreement was signed by H.E. Younis Haji AlKhoori, Undersecretary of MoF, and Sam Achampong, Regional Director for the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific at CIPS. Senior officials, including H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Government Financial Management, attended the signing ceremony.
H.E. AlKhoori highlighted the ministry's commitment to advancing sustainable development and achieving excellence in public finance. “This collaboration equips government employees with tools to apply global best practices in procurement, ensuring efficiency and added value,” he said, emphasizing the role of the program in enhancing government performance and sustainability.
The CIPS Practitioner Level Diploma will focus on empowering federal employees with advanced procurement and sourcing strategies. Targeted at financial and procurement managers, the program aims to develop decision-making and analytical skills, enhance cost efficiency, and promote environmental sustainability in government operations.
Sam Achampong expressed CIPS’s dedication to supporting the UAE’s ambitions. “This diploma will enable government employees to stay ahead of global trends and deliver optimal outcomes,” he said.
The partnership aligns with the MoF's strategic goals to establish a resilient and sustainable ecosystem and reinforce the UAE’s position as a global hub for procurement innovation. Founded in the UK, CIPS is a globally recognized leader in procurement and supply chain management, with over 70,000 members across 180 countries.
