Bahrain, 20 January, 2025 : H.E. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Bahrain’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, emphasized the growing and prosperous ties between Bahrain and the United States, highlighting a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in commerce and industry.
Speaking at a business luncheon organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AmCham), H.E. stressed the importance of the private sector in driving collaboration. The event was attended by Qays Al Zubi, President of AmCham Bahrain, Liz Clark, Director of Middle East Affairs at AmCham, and H.E. Stephen Bondy, US Ambassador to Bahrain.
H.E. Bondy praised the fruitful partnership between AmCham Bahrain, AmCham US, and the US Embassy in promoting trade under the US-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement. He noted the shared goals of deepening economic cooperation and enhancing trade opportunities between both nations.
Qays Al Zubi reiterated AmCham Bahrain’s role as a key platform for fostering bilateral trade, supporting American businesses in Bahrain, and facilitating the global expansion of Bahraini companies. Liz Clark acknowledged the significant achievements in US-Bahrain relations, including trade and investment, defense, and security.
Clark also highlighted the 2006 US-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement and the recent Security Integration and Inclusive Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), which have driven bilateral trade growth and strengthened ties. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing mutual economic goals.
