UAE, 22 January, 2025 : The UAE Ministry of Finance, led by Undersecretary HE Younis Haji AlKhoori, hosted the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Article IV consultation mission at its Abu Dhabi headquarters. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Ali Abdullah Sharafi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for International Financial Relations, and Thuraiya Hamid Alhashmi, Director of International Financial Relations and Organisations.
The discussions focused on the UAE’s economic and financial developments, policies enhancing the nation’s economic framework, and the IMF’s role in evaluating financial performance globally. HE AlKhoori emphasized the value of collaboration with the IMF, noting these consultations are vital for addressing fiscal and monetary priorities to ensure sustainable growth.
Key topics included economic prospects, fiscal sustainability, economic diversification, liquidity management, the real estate sector, monetary policy transmission, and structural reforms. The IMF delegation will continue meetings with various stakeholders in the UAE until January 22 as part of the annual Article IV consultation.
