Kuwait, 30 January, 2025 : Kuwait's Foreign Minister, Abdullah Al-Yahya, emphasized the importance of cooperation to address regional and global political, economic, and security changes. Speaking at the first meeting of the 28th session of the GCC Advisory Board, Al-Yahya noted that Kuwait’s presidency of the 45th GCC session comes at a critical time for strengthening Gulf integration.
Al-Yahya highlighted the GCC's resilience in overcoming challenges and praised the Advisory Board's role in supporting decision-making. He conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the previous Advisory Board session, Dr. Mohammad Al-Sada, for his efforts.
The GCC Secretary-General, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, stressed the Board’s vital role in backing the Supreme Council's decisions and outlined new directives from the 45th Gulf Summit, including unifying efforts to combat natural disasters, developing policies for artificial intelligence, and overcoming integration obstacles between GCC countries.
Dr. Al-Sada congratulated the new Chairman, Nasser Al-Roudhan, and acknowledged the achievements of the previous session, which delivered strategic recommendations to the Supreme Council. Al-Roudhan emphasized the Board’s role in tackling key issues affecting GCC citizens and enhancing sustainable development in the region.
The Advisory Body, established in 1997, aims to foster consultation and communication among GCC member states.
