Kuwait, 31 January, 2025 : The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) reaffirmed its commitment to expanding economic cooperation with Saudi Arabia, highlighting joint investment opportunities and knowledge exchange.
During a meeting with a delegation from Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Chamber, led by Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh, both sides discussed ways to remove obstacles facing business communities and enhance trade ties. Kuwaiti factory and company representatives attended the session, which focused on fostering economic collaboration.
Al-Sheikh noted that trade between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia grew from 8 billion riyals in 2015 to nearly 11 billion riyals in 2022, reflecting a 37.5% increase. He also emphasized the importance of maximizing local content in energy projects, applying emerging technologies like AI, and supporting innovation in the sector.
Citing the recent railway linkage agreement as a key milestone, Al-Sheikh praised ongoing efforts to strengthen integration between the two economies. He underscored the potential for broader business partnerships in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and Kuwait Vision 2035.
He also invited businesses to participate in the Saudi National Products and Industries Exhibition, taking place from January 29 to February 1.
