UAE, 25 February, 2025 : UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met in Rome on Monday to discuss enhancing cooperation between the UAE and Italy. The meeting, part of Sheikh Mohamed's state visit to Italy, focused on advancing bilateral relations in various sectors including economy, investment, technology, renewable energy, and cultural exchange.
Sheikh Mohamed affirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership, highlighting the non-oil trade volume between the two countries, which reached $14.1 billion in 2024—a 21.2% increase from 2023. He emphasized the potential for continued growth in trade and cooperation in sustainability, artificial intelligence, and innovation.
The UAE President also expressed hope that the UAE's $40 billion investment in Italy would contribute to both nations' prosperity. Prime Minister Meloni welcomed the visit and reiterated Italy's desire to deepen collaboration with the UAE.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from both sides, including Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other members of the UAE delegation.
