Kuwait and Uzbekistan Sign Four Agreements to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Kuwait, 25 February, 2025 : Kuwait's Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah welcomed Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his delegation at the international airport. The visit, attended by top Kuwaiti and Uzbek officials, aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation.

During the visit, four agreements were signed at Bayan Palace, overseen by His Highness the Amir and President Mirziyoyev. The agreements focused on various sectors including labor force cooperation, air cargo, smart cities, and industrial collaboration.

  • The first agreement, signed by Kuwait's Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef and Uzbek Foreign Minister Baxtiyor Saidov, focuses on expanding labor force cooperation in the private sector. 
  • The second protocol, signed by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya and Saidov, amends the air cargo cooperation agreement. 
  • The third agreement, aimed at developing smart city initiatives, was signed by Kuwait's Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Abdullatif Al-Meshari and Saidov.
  •  The fourth agreement on industrial cooperation was signed by Kuwait's Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Askar and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Laziz Kudratov.

To conclude the visit, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah hosted a luncheon in honor of President Mirziyoyev and his delegation.
