Kuwait, 25 February, 2025 : Jordan’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan and the Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Waleed Shumlan Al Bahr, signed two agreements totaling 10 million Kuwaiti dinars ($32.6 million) each for education and infrastructure projects.
The projects include the third phase of the General Education Infrastructure Project and the Roads and Bridges Rehabilitation Project. The agreements aim to support Jordan’s development priorities, as part of Kuwait’s commitment to a $500 million concessional loan program announced at the 2018 Makkah Summit.
The General Education Infrastructure Project will establish five vocational schools across Jordan to provide technical education and alleviate overcrowding. Meanwhile, the Roads and Bridges Rehabilitation Project will upgrade 2,528 kilometers of roads, maintain several bridges, and improve road safety across the Kingdom.
Since 1962, the Kuwait Fund has contributed $2.1 billion to Jordan's development, underscoring the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.
