Qatar, 27 February, 2025 : Qatar is offering significant support to startups aiming to establish and expand their presence in the country, officials highlighted during a panel discussion at the Web Summit. The session, titled "Unlocking Qatar’s Potential: The QFC Advantage for Startups," focused on opportunities for entrepreneurs through various accelerator programs.
Qatar Financial Center (QFC) provides a robust legal and regulatory framework for businesses, from startups to large corporations, enabling them to thrive in both regulated and non-regulated activities. Nour Herzallah, Client Relationship Expert at QFC, emphasized the center’s goal to enhance platform operations and ecosystem connectivity, offering a fully digitalized process through the QFC portal.
QFC also introduced a “collaborate and partnership notice board” for startups to showcase their services and connect with the ecosystem. Partnerships with Ooredoo, Vodafone Qatar, QNB, and The View Hospital offer valuable services, including VIP healthcare access for QFC clients.
Majed Lababidi, Director of Ecosystem Integration at Alchemist Doha, a startup in QFC’s accelerator program, shared insights on how Alchemist supports startups with a unique triple impact approach—investment, incubation, and acceleration. Alchemist Doha provides registration assistance, free coworking spaces through QSTP and MCIT, and valuable access to mentorship, clients, and brands, helping startups integrate into Qatar’s innovation ecosystem.
