Qatar's General Tax Authority President Participates in 4th International Conference on Fiscal Policy

Qatar, 27 February, 2025 : H.E. Mr. Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Jaham Al-Kuwari, President of the General Tax Authority, participated in the 4th International Conference on Fiscal Policy and Economic Development held at Qatar University. The event, themed "Reshaping Investment Fiscal Incentives in GCC Countries," took place from February 26 to 27 at the Andaz Doha Hotel.

Al-Kuwari delivered the keynote address during the opening session, joining experts from international financial institutions, global universities, and government agencies. The conference covered four main topics: financial investment incentives, non-tax incentive trends, tax incentive reforms, and the relationship between tax spending and other incentives. A workshop on 'Tax Reform and Restructuring of Tax Systems' was also held on the sidelines at Qatar University's College of Business and Economics.

In his speech, Al-Kuwari emphasized Qatar's commitment to adapting to global tax changes and fostering a sustainable business environment. He highlighted the transformative impact of the second pillar on the global tax system and the General Tax Authority's efforts to develop effective incentives in support of Qatar’s National Vision 2030.

The conference provided a valuable platform for discussing global research and practices on financial investment incentives, benefitting tax and finance professionals. The General Tax Authority's active participation underscores its role in creating a thriving investment climate and advancing the nation’s economic goals.
