Kuwait, 28 February, 2025 : Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that Egypt and Kuwait will soon unveil significant joint economic and investment projects, following high-level discussions with Kuwaiti leaders. The announcement will take place during the upcoming visit of Kuwaiti Prime Minister Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to Egypt.
Madbouly emphasized the strengthening of bilateral relations and the commitment of both nations to enhancing economic cooperation. The projects are expected to boost trade, investment, and infrastructure development, further solidifying Egypt’s position as a key regional investment hub.
On regional affairs, the Prime Minister highlighted Egypt’s diplomatic efforts regarding the Gaza conflict, reaffirming the country’s role in promoting stability and peace.
In terms of economic performance, Madbouly reported that foreign direct investment (FDI) in Egypt reached $2.7 billion in Q1 of FY 2024/2025, reflecting growing investor confidence. He reiterated the government’s commitment to economic reforms, industrial expansion, and increasing exports.
Additionally, remittances from Egyptians abroad have seen a notable rise, further supporting Egypt’s economic resilience.
The upcoming Egypt-Kuwait investment announcement is expected to drive greater economic collaboration and new opportunities across key sectors.
