Oman, 3 March, 2025 : The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology is conducting a field survey to measure the digital economy’s contribution to Oman’s GDP in 2023. The initiative aligns with the National Digital Economy Programme, which aims to enhance the country's digital transformation.
The survey will provide accurate data to policymakers for developing a strategic roadmap for Oman’s digital economy. It also tracks progress toward the programme’s goal of increasing the digital economy’s GDP contribution by 10% by 2040.
Additionally, the survey will establish a comprehensive database for economic research, facilitate regional and international comparisons, and supply key statistics for researchers to enhance studies on the digital sector’s economic impact.
