KSA, 3 March, 2025 : Saudi Arabia's Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monshaat) has reported a 67% increase in commercial registrations in Q4 2024, bringing the total to 1.6 million. Riyadh led the growth with 39% of registrations, followed by Makkah at 17%, Eastern Province at 16%, and smaller contributions from other regions.
Monshaat’s latest quarterly SME Monitor Report highlights key sustainability trends adopted by SMEs, such as the circular economy, renewable energy, and environmental projects. It also emphasizes the role of government initiatives in supporting SMEs' sustainability efforts.
The report includes a statement from Rakan Alsheikh, Deputy Minister for Policies and Economic Planning, who discussed the Sustainability Champions Program. This program facilitates knowledge exchange between large companies and SMEs, empowering small businesses to engage in green technology and circular economy initiatives.
Additionally, the report provides data on Monshaat’s support services: over 51,000 individuals benefited from the Monshaat Academy, 41,076 SMEs accessed support centers, and nearly 6,100 used the Mazaya platform. The report also tracks the number of SMEs involved in innovation and franchising services.
Monshaat’s SME Monitor Report serves as a key reference for entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders in the Kingdom, providing valuable insights into the business environment and emerging trends.
