Qatar, 10 March, 2025 : The General Tax Authority (GTA) has announced a four-month extension for the submission of tax returns for the 2024 fiscal year, moving the deadline from April 30 to August 31, 2025. This extension aligns with the newly launched 100% Financial Penalty Exemption Initiative, giving taxpayers more time to meet their obligations.
The extension applies to all individuals and entities under the Income Tax Law No. (24) of 2018, including tax-exempt companies, Qatari and GCC-owned entities, and companies with non-Qatari partners. However, companies in petroleum and petrochemical industries are excluded and must submit their returns by April 30, 2025.
This move aims to assist taxpayers in ensuring timely and accurate compliance while providing the opportunity to benefit from the penalty exemption. The GTA encourages all taxpayers to submit their returns electronically via the Dhareeba Tax Portal. For assistance, taxpayers can contact the GTA Call Center or email.
