Oman, 17 March, 2025 : Oman’s Government Communication Centre (GCC) held the second session of the ‘Communication Dialogue’ on Wednesday, where governors discussed their regions’ economic contributions and development plans.
Officials highlighted efforts to diversify economic activities, support SMEs, and leverage local resources. The royal directive to allocate RO 20 million per governorate under the current five-year plan (2021-2025) has accelerated progress.
Musandam Governor Sayyid Ibrahim bin Saeed al Busaidi noted key infrastructure projects, including the Sultan Faisal bin Turki Road (40% complete) and the Khasab Airport project, now in final design stages.
North Batinah Governor Mohammed bin Suleiman al Kindi emphasized the region’s economic role, with Sohar Port, Sohar Airport, and the Free Zone driving growth and SME opportunities.
Dakhiliyah Governor Hilal bin Said al Hajri highlighted infrastructure projects, market developments, and community-led restoration efforts like Harat Al Aqar in Nizwa.
South Batinah Governor Eng. Masoud bin Saeed al Hashimi detailed waterfront developments in Barka and Al Musannah, along with tourism enhancement projects at historic sites.
The ‘Communication Dialogue’ sessions promote transparency and public engagement in Oman’s economic and infrastructure development.
