China-Qatar Relations Enter a ‘Golden Period’ of Collaboration

Qatar, 24 March, 2025 : China’s global influence is fostering deeper ties with Qatar, said Shen Haixiong, vice-minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and president of China Media Group (CMG). He made these remarks via video at the China-Qatar Youth Dialogue conference, hosted by CMG in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Qatar.

The event, attended by Chinese Ambassador Cao Xiaolin and Qatari officials, explored China’s high-quality development and its impact on Qatar. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in technology and culture, with AI-driven innovation and China’s manufacturing sector playing key roles in Qatar’s economic transformation.

Shen highlighted President Xi Jinping’s emphasis on institutional openness and global cooperation, reaffirming China’s commitment to stability and shared prosperity. Ambassador Cao echoed this, noting the ‘golden period’ of China-Qatar relations marked by stronger political trust, economic collaboration, and cultural exchange.

The dialogue also celebrated growing cultural ties, including Qatar’s first panda pavilion and the upcoming release of Ne Zha 2. Qatari youth participated in Chinese, reflecting their interest in deeper engagement. Participants expressed optimism for a strengthened China-Qatar strategic partnership.
