UAE, 11 April, 2025 : The UAE and India signed eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) across critical sectors including infrastructure, healthcare, education, logistics, and maritime services, during a ceremony attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal.
Organised by Dubai Chambers in Mumbai, the signings took place during Sheikh Hamdan's official visit to India. He hailed the agreements as a reflection of the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations and a step forward in creating resilient, innovation-driven economies.
Dubai Chambers signed three MoUs with top Indian business organisations — the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and the IMC Chamber of Commerce — to support bilateral trade, investment, and private sector collaboration.
DP World inked two MoUs: one with RITES, a consultancy under India’s Ministry of Railways, to develop modern logistics and enhance the UAE-India Virtual Trade Corridor; and another with Cochin Shipyard Limited to jointly develop ship repair clusters and marine engineering solutions.
Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad to establish an IIMA campus in Dubai. The project will roll out in phases, starting this year, with a permanent campus expected by 2029.
In healthcare, Dubai Health signed an MoU to establish the UAE-India Friendship Hospital, a not-for-profit initiative backed by key private sector leaders from both countries, aimed at delivering affordable healthcare in Dubai.
Additionally, Dubai Medical University and AIIMS signed an academic cooperation agreement to promote student and faculty exchange, joint research, and collaboration in digital healthcare and AI.
These MoUs build on frameworks like the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and the Bilateral Investment Treaty, further cementing UAE-India strategic relations.
