UAE, 21 April, 2025 : The UAE Ministry of Economy has signed a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with key national authorities, including the Economic Security Centre of Dubai (ESCD) and the Dubai Land Department (DLD), to enhance cooperation in combating money laundering and financial crimes.
The agreements aim to improve the country’s regulatory infrastructure, promote transparency, and strengthen mechanisms to detect and prevent financial crimes in line with global standards.
The MoUs support data sharing, technical cooperation, and capacity building, while enhancing the Ministry’s supervisory role under national legislation. They also establish secure frameworks for collaboration among signatories.
The signing took place during the “Role of the DNFBPs Sector in Combating Financial Crimes” summit in Dubai, attended by senior UAE officials, including Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri and Minister of Justice Abdullah Al Nuaimi.
The initiative supports the UAE’s efforts to prepare for upcoming international evaluations, enhance legal compliance, and bolster national financial security. Officials emphasized the importance of a unified, sustainable approach to tackling financial crimes and boosting the UAE’s global competitiveness.
