Qatar, 28 April, 2025 : Qatar Chamber (QC) hosted a German trade delegation yesterday, led by H.E. Hendrik Wüst, Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia, to discuss enhancing bilateral investments and economic cooperation.
The delegation was welcomed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber, during a business meeting attended by prominent Qatari businessmen. Discussions focused on investment opportunities in sectors such as information technology, energy, shipping, sports, petrochemicals, ports, and semiconductor solutions.
Sheikh Khalifa highlighted that the trade volume between Qatar and Germany reached $6 billion in 2024, with Qatar importing $5.1 billion worth of goods from Germany and exporting around $900 million. He noted Germany’s significance as a destination for Qatari investments across industries like automotive, telecommunications, and real estate, and emphasized Qatar’s transition towards a diversified, knowledge-based economy under Qatar National Vision 2030.
H.E. Hendrik Wüst praised Qatar’s emergence as a regional hub and emphasized the transformation of North Rhine-Westphalia from traditional industries to advanced technology and artificial intelligence, opening new avenues for Qatari investment.
Felix Neugart, CEO of NRW Global Business, presented investment opportunities in North Rhine-Westphalia, particularly in artificial intelligence, high-tech industries, hydrogen production, biotechnology, and aviation.
