Bahrain’s Industry Minister, WTO Chief Discuss Strengthening Trade Ties

Bahrain, 30 April, 2025 : Bahrain’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, met with World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on the sidelines of the "Bab Al Bahrain Forum 2025," held under the theme “Shaping a Sustainable Future through Trade and Employment.”

The meeting focused on strengthening joint cooperation, with the Minister affirming the WTO’s key role in supporting global trade and economic sustainability. Discussions also covered Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to enhance its business environment, boost competitiveness, and further integrate into the global trading system. The role of the WTO in supporting emerging economies was also emphasized.
