Saudi Arabia, U.S. Boost Economic Ties with $54B Investment Surge

KSA, 13 May, 2025 : Saudi Arabia and the United States are strengthening their nearly century-old strategic partnership with deepened trade and investment cooperation, spotlighted at the Saudi–U.S. Investment Forum 2025 held in Riyadh today.

Hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Investment, the forum aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals and coincides with the visit of U.S. President Donald Trump. Key discussions center around bolstering collaboration in energy, infrastructure, technology, finance, and healthcare.

In 2024, bilateral trade reached $32.5 billion. Saudi exports to the U.S. totaled $12.8 billion, with nearly $3 billion from non-oil goods. Top exports included mineral products, fertilizers, and organic chemicals. Meanwhile, U.S. exports to Saudi Arabia hit $19.7 billion, led by machinery, vehicles, and medical equipment.

The U.S. remains the largest foreign investor in the Kingdom, holding $54 billion in FDI as of 2023—23% of Saudi Arabia’s total FDI. American investments are concentrated in transportation, manufacturing, and retail. U.S. firms hold over 1,200 investment licenses and operate around 200 regional headquarters in the country, employing more than 80,000 people—over half of them Saudis.

Saudi outbound investment in the U.S. stands at $75 billion, driven by major entities like PIF, Aramco, and SABIC. American financial institutions also play a pivotal role in channeling global capital into Saudi Arabia.

The forum underscores the evolving Saudi–U.S. economic alliance amid global economic shifts.
