UAE, 29 May, 2025 : The UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) has launched the region’s first “Finfluencer” licence, aimed at regulating individuals who provide financial advice and content via digital and traditional media platforms.
This initiative establishes a formal framework for investment recommendations and financial promotions to enhance investor protection and market transparency. The SCA has waived registration, renewal, and legal consultation fees for the first three years to encourage adoption and support financial innovation.
SCA CEO Waleed Saeed Al Awadhi described the move as a strategic step to align with the digital economy and strengthen trust in the UAE’s capital markets. The licence is open to individuals offering financial content on regulated products or services, and all applicants must register with the SCA and meet compliance standards.
The initiative supports the UAE’s vision to become a leading global financial hub by promoting responsible financial communication and raising regulatory standards.
