UAE, 01 July, 2025 : The UAE Ministry of Finance has released the first official version of the Peppol International (PINT AE) specifications, establishing the technical foundation for the country's upcoming mandatory e-invoicing system, set to launch in phases starting mid-2026.
The specifications outline invoice types, mandatory and conditional fields, technical validations, and key use cases—including free zone supplies, e-commerce, and continuous supply. Six invoice document types have been defined, such as commercial invoices, credit notes, and self-billed documents.
While imports remain out of scope, businesses must now begin assessing system readiness, engage with future Accredited Service Providers (ASPs), and align their processes with PINT AE standards. Certain elements—like human-readable formats, field conditions per use case, and finalized tax data fields—remain pending further guidance.
The MoF urges businesses to refer to its official website for updates and to begin preparing early to avoid disruptions during rollout.
