FTA Urges Businesses to Act Fast for Corporate Tax Penalty Waiver

UAE, 18 July, 2025 : The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) is urging businesses to register for Corporate Tax promptly to benefit from the AED 10,000 Late Registration Penalty waiver.

Under the initiative, Taxable Persons and Exempt Persons required to register can avoid penalties if they register and submit their first Tax Return or annual declaration within 7 months of the end of their first Tax Period or Financial Year.

The FTA confirmed a significant rise in registrations  from 538,000 to 576,000 since the initiative launched in April 2025.

FTA Director General H.E. Khalid Al Bustani emphasized that the initiative supports economic growth, encourages voluntary compliance, and promotes transparency. The FTA continues to raise awareness through outreach and calls on non-registered businesses to take immediate action via the EmaraTax platform.
