Qatar Extends Tax Penalty Exemption Initiative to December 2025

Qatar, 01 September, 2025 : The General Tax Authority (GTA) has extended the deadline for its 100% Financial Penalty Exemption Initiative until December 31, 2025, allowing more taxpayers to regularize their status.

The initiative, accessible via the Dhareeba platform, exempts penalties for late registration, filing, or payment, subject to certain conditions. Since its launch, over 7,000 taxpayers have been exempted from penalties exceeding QR 1.6 billion, with more than 56,000 tax returns submitted covering periods from 2014–2024.

The GTA emphasized that the extension aims to boost compliance, support businesses across vital sectors, and enhance trust between taxpayers and the Authority.
