Qatar Tax Compliance Reaches 90% for 2025, Up 13.9%

Qatar, 19 August, 2026: Qatar’s General Tax Authority (GTA) has reported a significant improvement in tax compliance, with the tax return filing rate reaching 90% for the 2025 tax year, representing a 13.9% increase compared with 2024.

The GTA attributed the improvement to continued digital transformation, enhanced taxpayer services and stronger communication initiatives.

Upgrades to the Dhareeba Portal have made tax services more accessible and streamlined the tax return filing process, helping taxpayers meet their obligations more efficiently.

The Authority also conducted awareness campaigns through its website and social media platforms, providing guidance on tax obligations and filing procedures.

The GTA reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening tax compliance through improved digital services, taxpayer support and awareness initiatives, contributing to a more efficient and transparent tax system in Qatar.
