Bahrain, 16 September, 2026: Bahrain hosted the 17th meeting of the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Departments of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), chaired by Rana Ibrahim Faqihi, CEO of Bahrain’s National Revenue Authority.
The meeting brought together senior tax officials from GCC member states and representatives of the GCC General Secretariat to strengthen coordination, share best practices and support regional economic integration.
Key discussions focused on improving existing tax systems, developing advanced digital solutions, and exploring unified legislation and mechanisms to support greater economic integration across the Gulf.
Officials also reviewed recent developments and exchanged experiences on tax administration and digital transformation.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue joint efforts and build on existing achievements to strengthen tax cooperation and economic integration across the GCC.
