UAE, 13 March, 2024 : UAE and Rwanda have achieved a significant milestone, surpassing $1.1 billion in bilateral trade in 2023. This milestone underscores the robust and growing relationship between the two nations. Rwanda primarily exports horticultural products to the UAE, with plans for expansion. Currently, 26 Rwandan companies operate in Dubai's thriving logistics sector, while over 100 are active on e-commerce platforms like Dubuy.com, showcasing the increasing business ties. DP World's facilities in Kigali and Rwand Air's freighter services between Sharjah and Kigali play pivotal roles in facilitating trade.
UAE investments in Rwanda have surpassed $320 million, reflecting Rwanda's attractiveness as an investment destination. Beyond trade and investment, bilateral cooperation spans various sectors including hospitality, health, education, and ICT. Both nations are also focusing on emerging sectors like the fourth industrial revolution and space technology, paving the way for future collaborations in cutting-edge fields.
Sustainable collaboration and educational exchanges further deepen the partnership between Rwanda and the UAE. Moreover, the sports sector presents new avenues for collaboration, highlighting the diverse and expanding scope of their relations.
