ZATCA Promotes Voluntary Zakat Contributions Through ZAKATY Platform

KSA, 27 March, 2024 : Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) is urging individuals to voluntarily pay their Zakat through the "ZAKATY" app or website. This service allows users to calculate Zakat for various assets such as money, gold, silver, stocks, investment funds, and real estate. It also offers Zakat date reminders and calculates gold Zakat based on its purity using global gold and silver rates.

According to Humoud Alharbi, ZATCA's Official Spokesperson, funds collected through ZAKATY are directed to beneficiaries registered in the Social Insurance at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The app and website enable users to select specific categories for Zakat distribution, such as families in need of housing, families of divorced women, and families of prisoners.

Payments can be made securely through banks using methods like SADAD ( facilitating easy online payments in and out of Saudi Arabia.), Apple Pay, and MADA (National Payment Scheme Of Saudi Arabia), ensuring swift and reliable disbursement to eligible recipients. The service is overseen by Zakat experts to ensure accuracy in calculation and distribution.

Additionally, users can access stock and investment fund prices through the app, thanks to ZATCA's integration with Tadawul. ZAKATY supports calculating Zakat in different currencies, with payments made in Saudi Riyal (SAR).
