Abu Dhabi Fund for Development's Global Impact : Dh216 Billion in Financing and Investments

Abu Dhabi, 29 March, 2024 : Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has significantly increased its operational activities, surpassing Dh216 billion in cumulative development and investment financing by December 2023. The fund's latest annual report highlights Dh120.5 billion in development financing, comprising concessionary loans and government grants benefiting 106 countries globally. ADFD has also facilitated Emirati companies' expansion through the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX), with approximately Dh3.2 billion allocated to support national exports between 2020 and 2023.

On the investment front, ADFD's total investments reached Dh12.6 billion across various sectors in 26 countries, with an additional Dh78 billion deposited in central banks and Dh5.3 billion allocated to bolster investment activities. The Fund's achievements undersc ore the leadership's commitment to sustainable development, positioning ADFD as a global player in advancing economic and social progress.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of ADFD, emphasizes the crucial role of sustainable development in ensuring global prosperity and stability. ADFD's achievements are attributed to the enduring support of the leadership, facilitating strategic projects that drive economic activity and social progress.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlights the UAE's exemplary role in sustainable partnerships and international cooperation, with ADFD championing economic and social transformation worldwide.

Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, underscores the Fund's commitment to supporting the national economy and enhancing the role of the private sector. ADFD's diverse investments and strategic projects aim to generate job opportunities and improve living standards in recipient countries.

ADFD's initiatives, including the Abu Dhabi Exports Office and financing for national private sector companies, demonstrate its dedication to bolstering the UAE's economic competitiveness and global presence. In 2023, ADFD facilitated significant projects in renewable energy, agriculture, and infrastructure development, contributing to the country's economic growth and prosperity.
