Oman and Uzbekistan Sign Cooperation Agreement to Boost Trade and Cultural Ties

Oman, 16 April, 2024 : Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi visited Tashkent and met with his Uzbek counterpart, Bakhtiyor Saidov, during the Gulf Cooperation Council's second ministerial meeting with Central Asian nations. The focus of their discussions was on bolstering Oman-Uzbekistan ties across various sectors, including trade, investment, education, and culture.

The two Ministers signed a program aimed at enhancing future cooperation strategies, emphasizing opportunities in energy, transport, agriculture, and industry. They also highlighted the importance of fostering business partnerships between Omani and Uzbek companies.

In the educational and cultural spheres, they agreed on exchanging expertise between universities and organizing joint cultural events to strengthen the bond between Oman and Uzbekistan. The meeting was attended by ambassadors and officials from both countries, including Oman's Ambassador-designate to Uzbekistan, AlSayyida Wafa Jabr Nasser Albusaidi, and Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Oman, Abdusalam Khatamov.
