This agreement marks a significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between Oman LNG and Shell, making Shell the largest off-taker of LNG from Oman.
Hamed Mohammed Al Nu’amani, CEO of Oman LNG, commented, "This SPA solidifies our crucial relationship with Shell as our largest term buyer. It reflects Shell's trust in Oman's LNG and enhances our market access opportunities."
Walid Hadi, Senior Vice President and Country Chairman of Shell in Oman, stated, “This agreement expands our LNG portfolio and ensures we meet the rising demand for flexible energy. As Oman LNG’s largest private shareholder for the next decade, Shell is committed to this partnership.”
Oman LNG's reliability as a global LNG supplier and its efficient management have been key factors in this agreement. The company's Qalhat plant in Sur exceeded its 2023 production rate, boasting an output of 11.5 MTPA, surpassing its enhanced nameplate capacity.
