KSA, 13 May, 2024 : His Excellency Saudi Arabia's Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammed Aljadaan, spearheaded the Kingdom's representation at the Ministerial-level Preparatory Meeting of the Economic and Social Council for Arab Summit (33), held today in Manama, Bahrain. Attendees included representatives from Arab League member states and specialists from the Arab League Secretariat.
Minister Aljadaan underscored Saudi Arabia's privilege in hosting the 32nd Regular Session of the Arab Summit, which yielded the Jeddah Declaration. This statement introduced initiatives across economic, agricultural, cultural, and educational domains fostering joint Arab action.
Key resolutions from the previous summit, including advancing the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) requirements and endorsing the Arab Strategy for Tourism, were highlighted for their significance in enhancing Arab economic development.
Discussions among participants revolved around new topics in the economic and social agenda slated for submission at the 33rd Regular Session of the Arab Summit.
The gathering stressed the imperative of bolstering collective Arab economic and social endeavors, alongside addressing pressing challenges in the MENA region amidst evolving global economic dynamics and the ongoing implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
